Push-to-talk on the Fn key
Hold the Fn (or Globe) key and speak. Release to insert the transcribed text wherever your cursor is. Double-tap to lock recording on for hands-free use — tap again to stop. You can rebind to any shortcut from Settings.
Every feature in ParlaParla exists to take the friction out of talking to your Mac. Here's what's in the app today.
Hold the Fn (or Globe) key and speak. Release to insert the transcribed text wherever your cursor is. Double-tap to lock recording on for hands-free use — tap again to stop. You can rebind to any shortcut from Settings.
Choose how much ParlaParla tidies your speech: raw, light cleanup, full polish, custom prompt, or translate. Custom prompt lets you set your tone once and forget — "write like a senior engineer," "no filler words," "translate to English," anything you want.
Teach ParlaParla the words it gets wrong. Product names, colleagues, technical jargon, Danish towns. The dictionary is applied after transcription, so it works even for words the underlying model has never seen.
Speak in Danish, get English. Speak in French, get Italian. Translation happens as part of the AI enhancement step, so there's no extra latency for you.
The app is localized into eight languages: English, Danish, Norwegian Bokmål, Swedish, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. Transcription itself supports all ten OpenAI-supported languages.
ParlaParla lives in your menu bar, not your dock. A subtle overlay pill shows your transcription status. Native SwiftUI means it feels exactly like part of macOS.
